An Internship Orientation Programme for the B. Com 5th Semester students was successfully conducted on 18th June 2026 at Mangaldai Commerce College. The programme was organized with the objective of familiarizing students with the significance of internships in enhancing practical knowledge, professional competence, and career readiness.
The session was led by Dr. Rinamani Sarmah Bordoloi, Nodal Officer of the Internship Cell, Mangaldai Commerce College. In her informative presentation, she highlighted the importance of internships as an integral component of higher education under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. She explained the various internship opportunities available to students and emphasized how practical exposure bridges the gap between classroom learning and the professional world.
Dr. Bordoloi also discussed essential workplace ethics, professional behaviour, communication skills, time management, teamwork, and the importance of developing a positive attitude in the workplace. She encouraged students to make the most of internship opportunities to acquire industry-specific knowledge, build confidence, and enhance their employability skills.
The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students, who actively engaged in discussions and sought clarification on internship procedures and career prospects. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource person and all participants for making the orientation programme a meaningful and successful event.
