The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 110 students of Higher Secondary and B.Com classes. The primary objective of the workshop was to create awareness among students regarding the fundamentals of the stock market, investment opportunities, financial planning, and the growing importance of financial literacy in today’s economy.
The programme began with a welcome address by Mr. Ranjit Sarma, Head of the Department of Finance. In his speech, he highlighted the significance of organising such informative and career-oriented programmes for students. He stated that awareness initiatives of this kind play an important role in equipping students with practical financial knowledge and helping them make responsible financial decisions in the future.
The event featured Mr. Sanidul Islam, BDM and BM of Angel One and an alumnus of the college, as the resource person. In his address, he explained the basic concepts of the stock market, various investment avenues, and the importance of disciplined financial planning for achieving long-term financial goals. He also emphasised the need for informed investment decisions and cautioned students against fraudulent investment schemes.
The second resource person, Mrs. Shudipta Banerjee, Zonal Training Manager of Angel One, joined the programme through online mode. In her address, she highlighted the growing importance of financial awareness among students and stressed the need for early investment planning and responsible financial management. She encouraged students to enhance their understanding of the financial sector and make informed financial decisions in the future.
The programme also included an interactive question-and-answer session during which students actively engaged with the speakers and sought guidance regarding career opportunities, placement prospects, and skill development in the financial sector. During the event, students of the college were felicitated by Mr. Sanidul Islam for their achievements.
The programme concluded on a positive note, with students and faculty members appreciating the initiative and recognising the importance of such academic-industry collaborations in promoting career awareness and skill development among the youth.
