A group of 29 students from Mangaldai Commerce College under the initiative of the IQAC, participated in a motivational and educational programme titled “Soldier for a Day, Warrior for Life” organized at Hatigarh Army Camp, Udalguri on 5th June, 2026.
The programme was designed to provide students with firsthand exposure to military life and to instil values such as discipline, patriotism, leadership, and a sense of responsibility. It also aimed to create awareness among the youth regarding career opportunities in the Indian Army. Hatigarh Army Camp has been actively associated with various youth-oriented initiatives in the region and continues to play an important role in motivating young minds.
During the programme, the students were taken on a guided tour of the camp and introduced to different aspects of army training and daily military routines. Army personnel conducted demonstrations on physical fitness exercises, weapon handling, drill practices, fieldcraft, and the use of military equipment. The students showed great enthusiasm throughout the programme and actively interacted with the officers and soldiers to gain a better understanding of army life.
The programme provided a unique opportunity for the participants to experience the discipline and dedication required in military service. It also enabled them to appreciate the sacrifices made by soldiers in safeguarding the nation. The students expressed their sincere gratitude to the Indian Army for organizing such an inspiring and informative programme.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the organizing authority, acknowledging the cooperation and support extended by the officers and staff of Hatigarh Army Camp. The programme was highly successful in motivating the students and fostering patriotism, discipline, leadership qualities, and a sense of national pride among the participants.
