Mangaldai Commerce College celebrated Teachers’ Day on 5th September 2026 with great enthusiasm, reverence, and respect to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the eminent philosopher, academician, statesman, and the second President and first Vice-President of India. The day-long programme was organized by the Students’ Union, Mangaldai Commerce College, as a mark of respect, gratitude, and appreciation towards the teaching fraternity.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp before the portrait of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan by Dr. Runumoni Lahkar Das, Principal, Mangaldai Commerce College, followed by a floral tribute as a mark of respect and homage. In her address, the Principal extended warm greetings to all the teachers on the occasion and acknowledged their sincere and dedicated efforts in shaping the academic, intellectual, moral, and personal development of the students. She also highlighted the significant role played by teachers in guiding students towards becoming responsible and enlightened members of society.
A significant feature of the celebration was the formal inauguration of the College Wall Magazine by the Principal, followed by the inauguration of the respective Departmental Wall Magazines by the Heads of various Departments. The wall magazines showcased the creativity, ideas, literary talents, artistic expressions, and intellectual contributions of the students. They provided an encouraging platform for students to express their thoughts, imagination, knowledge, and talents beyond the conventional classroom environment.
As a gesture of gratitude and respect, all faculty members, library staff, and non-teaching staff of the college were felicitated by the Students’ Union with Phulam Gamosa, mementoes of felicitation, and saplings. This thoughtful gesture reflected the students’ deep appreciation for the valuable guidance, support, encouragement, and contributions of the teachers and staff members towards their overall growth and development. The presentation of saplings also conveyed a meaningful message of environmental consciousness and the importance of nurturing and sustaining life.
The celebration also featured a variety of cultural activities presented by the students, adding colour, vibrancy, and warmth to the occasion. The performances reflected the students’ enthusiasm, creativity, affection, and profound respect for their teachers. The cultural presentations created an atmosphere of joy and togetherness and made the celebration both memorable and meaningful.
The Teachers’ Day celebration at Mangaldai Commerce College thus served not only as an occasion to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan but also as a meaningful expression of the enduring bond between teachers and students. The programme successfully highlighted the invaluable role of teachers and staff in nurturing young minds and contributing to the holistic development of students.
