Report on Live Streaming of the Brikshya Bandhu Programme

Mangaldai Commerce College successfully organized the live streaming of the “Brikshya Bandhu” Programme on 11 August 2026 at the Digital Conference Hall of the College. The programme was organized with the objective of encouraging environmental awareness among students and ensuring their participation in various government initiatives aimed at promoting ecological sustainability.
The programme featured the live addresses of the Hon’ble Finance, Environment, Forest, Mines & Minerals Minister of Assam, Shri Jayanta Malla Baruah, and the Hon’ble Education Minister of Assam, Dr. Ranoj Pegu. Their addresses highlighted the importance of environmental conservation, tree plantation and the active participation of students in initiatives aimed at creating a greener and more sustainable society.
On the occasion, tree saplings were distributed among eligible students in the gracious presence of Dr. Runumoni Lahkar Das, Principal, Mangaldai Commerce College, along with Mr. Sabibar Rahman, Programme Officer, NSS Unit, Mangaldai Commerce College. The distribution of saplings served as an important step towards encouraging students to take responsibility for environmental protection and contribute to the enhancement of green cover.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from the faculty members, students and staff of the College. Their active involvement reflected the collective commitment of the College towards environmental awareness, sustainable practices and the effective implementation of government welfare and developmental initiatives.
The successful organization of the live streaming programme and distribution of tree saplings marked another meaningful effort by Mangaldai Commerce College to engage its student community in environmental conservation and responsible citizenship.
