The Health & Hygiene Cell of Mangaldai Commerce College, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), observed World AIDS Day 2025 on 1st December 2025 through a series of awareness-oriented activities aimed at promoting knowledge and understanding about HIV/AIDS.
As part of the observance, the Quiz Club of Mangaldai Commerce College organized a special quiz competition focusing on health, HIV/AIDS awareness, and general knowledge. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Ranjit Sarma, Principal (i/c), Mangaldai Commerce College. The quiz witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff. Prizes were awarded to the participants who secured the first position in recognition of their commendable performance.
The programme was hosted by Mrs. Poonam Das Saharia, Convenor, Health & Hygiene Cell, Mangaldai Commerce College. The active participation of the college community created an engaging and inclusive atmosphere and contributed significantly to the success of the programme.
The observance of World AIDS Day provided an important platform to highlight the global significance of HIV/AIDS awareness and to emphasize the values of knowledge, empathy, compassion, and social inclusion. The activities encouraged the participants to dispel misconceptions surrounding HIV/AIDS and to contribute towards creating a supportive and stigma-free environment.
Overall, the World AIDS Day 2025 programme was successfully conducted with active involvement from the college community. It served as a meaningful initiative to promote health awareness and reinforce the collective responsibility of students and staff in spreading accurate information and fostering an inclusive society.
