On the eve of the 80th Independence Day of India, Cristal Vision, Mangaldai in collaboration with the NSS Unit of Mangaldai Commerce College and the Blood Bank, Mangaldai Civil Hospital, successfully organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp at the college campus on 14th August 2026.
The programme was dedicated to remembering the immortal martyrs of India’s freedom struggle and honouring the sacrifices of the brave freedom fighters who dedicated their lives to the nation. The initiative aimed to promote the spirit of voluntary blood donation among students and create awareness about the importance of healthy and responsible living. It also emphasized the values of compassion, social responsibility, community service and service to humanity.
The blood donation camp was inaugurated by Mr. Patha Pratim Baruah, ACS, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Darrang, Assam and Dr. Kamala Sharma, Joint Director of Health Services (i/c), Darrang, Assam, in the presence of officials from the Darrang District Administration. The presence of Mrs. Kalpana Deka, CEO, Darrang Zila Parishad, further encouraged the students, faculty members and organizers. Their esteemed presence added significance to the occasion and inspired everyone to come forward and contribute towards the well-being of society.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members and college staff. A total of 30 students enrolled their names as donor and out of then 28 students along with faculty members donated their blood successfully. The dedicated medical team from Mangaldai Civil Hospital provided essential medical assistance and professional support throughout the camp. The active involvement of the participants made the initiative meaningful and impactful, highlighting the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving precious lives and supporting people in need.
The camp successfully strengthened the spirit of voluntary service, healthy living, social responsibility and community welfare among the students and members of Mangaldai Commerce College. It also served as an important platform for sensitizing the student community about the value of donating blood and contributing to society in times of need.
The organizers express their sincere gratitude to the Darrang District Administration, Mangaldai Civil Hospital, the Blood Bank, participating students, faculty members and college staff for their valuable cooperation and support. Special thanks are extended to the dedicated medical team and staff of Mangaldai Civil Hospital for their invaluable service, cooperation and commitment in making the blood donation camp a successful and socially meaningful initiative.
At the end of the programme certificates are distributed among the blood donors.
