An exposure trip to SRCB & Co. (Chartered Accountants), Bharalumukh, Guwahati, was organized for the B.Com. 3rd Semester students of Mangaldai Commerce College on 26th July 2025 with the objective of providing students with practical learning experiences beyond the conventional classroom environment.
The primary objective of the visit was to familiarize the students with various accounts-related activities, professional practices followed in Chartered Accountancy firms, and the importance of personality development and professional grooming. The visit provided the students with an opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of the functioning of a professional accounting organization.
During the visit, the students were introduced to the day-to-day functioning of a Chartered Accountancy firm. They gained practical exposure to areas such as bookkeeping, auditing, preparation of financial statements, taxation-related activities, and the use of accounting software. The resource persons from the firm interacted with the students and explained various professional practices and responsibilities associated with the accounting and finance sectors.
The interaction also focused on important professional skills such as workplace discipline, professional ethics, time management, communication skills, teamwork, and personality development. The students were encouraged to develop a professional attitude and understand the expectations and responsibilities of working in the corporate and financial sectors.
The exposure trip proved to be highly beneficial for the students as it enabled them to connect their theoretical knowledge with real-world professional practices. It enhanced their understanding of accounting and finance and generated greater interest in pursuing careers in the field. The students actively participated in the interaction and expressed their appreciation for the valuable learning experience.
Overall, the exposure trip was a meaningful industry-oriented academic initiative that contributed significantly to the students' practical knowledge, professional awareness, and overall development.
