Career Counselling Programme For CA Aspirants

The Career Counselling Cell of Mangaldai Commerce College, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Mangaldai Commerce College, organized a Career Counselling Programme for CA Aspirants on 8 August 2025 from 1:00 p.m. onwards. The programme was organized with the objective of creating awareness among students about the Chartered Accountancy (CA) course and encouraging them to consider CA as a promising career option.
The programme featured CA Babulal Chowhan, Chartered Accountant, Guwahati, and former student of Mangaldai Commerce College, and CA Sheetal Chowhan, Chartered Accountant, as the resource persons.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Ranjit Sarma, Principal (i/c), Mangaldai Commerce College. In his address, he welcomed the resource persons and the participating students and briefed them about the Chartered Accountancy course offered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He also emphasized the relevance of professional courses in enhancing career opportunities for commerce students.
Mr. Kamaleswar Deka, Assistant Professor, Department of Finance, Mangaldai Commerce College, introduced the resource persons to the gathering.
CA Babulal Chowhan began his session with an engaging anecdote that immediately captured the attention of the students. He motivated the participants by emphasizing that even an average student can become a successful Chartered Accountant through dedication, discipline, and consistent effort. He elaborated on the significance of the CA profession and its wide-ranging relevance in areas such as finance, taxation, auditing, business, and government services.
He further provided students with detailed information about the eligibility criteria, syllabus, examination structure, and fee structure of the CA course. His practical insights and personal experiences helped the students gain a clearer understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with pursuing Chartered Accountancy.
The other resource person, CA Sheetal Chowhan, also highlighted the importance of hard work, perseverance, commitment, and systematic preparation in successfully completing the CA course. She encouraged the students to remain focused on their goals and develop a disciplined approach towards their studies.
Following the presentations, an interactive Question-and-Answer Session was conducted, during which both resource persons addressed the queries and doubts raised by the students regarding the CA course, examinations, preparation strategies, and career prospects.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. Kamaleswar Deka, Assistant Professor, Mangaldai Commerce College.
A total of 120 students of the B.Com. Programme participated in the programme and benefited from the valuable guidance and career-oriented insights provided by the resource persons. The programme was highly informative and motivating and successfully created greater awareness among the students about Chartered Accountancy as a professional career option.
